About medicine
My father is having severe chest pain any time in the day randomly but not for the whole day. Is nitroglycerin to be taken only when chest pain occurs? Is it compulsory to be taken on daily basis? Is it to be swallowed with water or should let it get dissolved under the tongue? Last time we diagnosed, his sgot was also high. Please suggest what diagnosis should be done after that.

Nitroglycerin can be taken to prevent chest pain as well as to stop an ongoing pain. Swallowing or with water depends on the formulation and the urgency. Any diabetes or hypertension should be controlled and habits like smoking (if any) should be stopped.
