Hello , I am mother of 16 months old child. I have a issue of hormonal imbalance. My gynecologist suggest me to take Drospirenone tablet for this is it safe for baby because I am still breastfeeding him .

At this age, breastfeeding is usually supplementary, not the sole source of nutrition. The baby’s liver and kidneys are more mature, and overall drug sensitivity is lower than in infants under 6 months.
Drospirenone is a progestin-only contraceptive. It is generally considered safe during breastfeeding, especially after 6 weeks postpartum. Very small amounts pass into breast milk, but clinical studies show no harmful effects on: Milk production, Infant growth and development, Behavior or feeding
