Some risk factors for DDH are- low fluid around baby in pregnancy, delivery with bottom down position instead of usual head down lie of foetus, family history of DDh in first degree delivery or other foot/leg/spine deforminitues.
Physical examination is best to rule out, if any doubts ultrasound can be done, for bigger babies ultrasound is less reliable and X-ray of hips maybe required if concerns persist
