A lupm on the side of the breast

Doctor my mother is having a lump on the side of the breast.Now we consulted a doctor and she recommended mammography first.Now she asked for taking a needle test. Are these any indication of anything? Is there any problem ? Please help me doctor I'm so worried of my mother's situation now.
