95 years old is not eating. Her to eat?

Hello Ma'am. Very Good evening. I'm Dr.Yogesh Kr Sharma. A 95 years old woman is not eating, the reasons May be numerous. I advice you to seek an opinion from Gastroenterologist. For feeding if not possible by orally,  you can also go to emergency room of any nearby hospital and could have insert Nasogastric Tube also known as Ryle's Tube ( feeding Tube), for feeding her with milk, juices, water,  semiliquid daal, soup and all other her favourite liquid or semiliquid by the help of 50 ml of Syringe, easily available at chemist & inserted by the doctor. This is one of the most successfull method to feed such elderly people denying oral feed. Kindly don't Push her repeatedly to have oral feed. It can aggravate the Current siituation and the patient would be anxious and highly irritated by doing this. The Tube has outer opening by which you can feed her with Syringe and by the end of the feed you can close the Lid. Its a painless procedure but in beginning May be irritable to the patient. But this is the best option available right away for you. You can also give her protein milk drinks. Also measure her blood pressure and blood glucose in view of poor oral intake. Regards.
