9 months pregnant but baby died

35 weeks pregnant- heart beat of baby was suddenly unrecognized and baby diet till tat day the baby was normal and active What will be the reason for this sudden heartbeat stop and death of unborn baby ? Is such cases are rare or frequent ?? Where is the problem for this occurrence ? Do explain pls
