Burning sensation and mild swelling for a few days after circumcision can occur due to raw healing skin coming in contact with urine. Usually it gradually improves over 5–7 days. Continue the medicines advised by your surgeon and encourage good water intake. You may pour lukewarm water while passing urine to reduce burning sensation. Keep the area clean and dry and avoid tight underwear.
Headache/migraine is usually not directly related to circumcision itself. It can happen due to pain, poor sleep, dehydration, stress, reduced food intake, or medicines after the procedure. Ensure he is drinking enough fluids, eating properly, and getting adequate rest.
Next Steps
If swelling is increasing, there is pus/foul smell, fever, inability to pass urine, severe pain, black discoloration, or continuous bleeding, please get him examined by the operating surgeon immediately.
