21month old baby fever 100.3
Hello doctor, my baby girl is 21months old and she got fever last Tuesday. It lasted for 3 days and gone. Since Friday there is no fever. But she is having fever again today (Tuesday) 4 days afterwards. Temp raised up to 100.4 sometimes. Her weight is 10.6kgs. We gave paracetamol syrup 3ml with 6hrs gap two times already. Her temp is normal now. My worry is the reason for recurrence of the fever. Last week we did urine test, blood test as well. No infection on urine, blood test is also normal with slight reduction in platelets count 1.37m. Dengue negative. What could be the reason for the recurrence of the fever? At what temperature we should worry? Could she get fever when she is scared of something? Could fever be caused by any food? Will bathing in warm water cause fever? Mom is still breast feeding , and the mom took covaxin second dose two days back(Sunday). Mom did not get any fever. Baby has no motion problem, urinating normally. But she is eating less since last week.

I am trying to figure out . It is safe the cause of fever in breast fed child of a mother who received Covid19 vaccine. It is safe to take vaccine by lactating mother. dengue test is negative, mother did not get fever after vaccination.. condition of baby eating less. but ,urinating normal her platlet count is slightly less Dengue test is negaive. , soit boils downto vaccination taken by mother against Covid 19.We kee p the child under observation, If temperature continue to rise repeat Dengue test and Platelet count count. I feel it is dueto vaccination done to breast feeding mother.please take appointment for follow up within a few days to follow the baby.do blood smear for Malarial parasite.. take care against mosquito to prevent malaria and dengue

Recurring fever can be seen in many viral and bacterial illnesses. Thorough and repeat blood testing directed by clinical history and examination is required. If temperature of the body measured at arm pit (not mouth) is above 101°F then you need to do like warm water sponging. Please do not use cold water. During febrile episode make the child wear light clothing . Do not wrap the child during fever.
