Seeing small amounts of bright red blood with hard stools is commonly due to a fissure or piles caused by constipation and straining, and in many young people it improves with proper treatment and bowel care. Don’t panic, but don’t ignore it either  this can usually be managed very effectively with early treatment, hydration, fiber intake and stool softening 👍

While you are maintaining a good diet, experiencing bright red blood in your stool (hematochezia) combined with difficulty passing stool (tenesmus) strongly suggests an Anal Fissure or internal hemorrhoids. These often occur when a single hard bowel movement causes a small tear in the lining of the anal canal. Even with a 'proper diet,' factors like dehydration, sudden changes in routine, or low fiber intake on specific days can lead to this acute irritation. It is important to treat this early to prevent the tear from becoming chronic
Next Steps
To receive a prescription for a soothing anesthetic gel or a mild stool softener to make passing stool effortless, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile."
Health Tips
Caution: "Do not ignore the bleeding just because your diet is good. Persistent bleeding needs a clinical diagnosis to ensure there is no deeper infection or inflammatory bowel issue." Red Flags: "Seek immediate medical attention if the bleeding becomes heavy (dripping), if you develop a high fever, or if the pain becomes so severe that you cannot sit or walk."
